Covid-19 vaccine rehearsal (dry run) to be held in three hospitals

There will be vaccine rehearsal (dry run) in the vaccination centres set up at 3 hospitals in Bhopal on January 2 for rehearsals to be held in the country to finalize preparations for Covid-19 vaccination in the state. Health Commissioner Dr. Sanjay Goyal, Collector Shri Avinash Lavania, gave necessary instructions after meeting the officers of Health Department.
State Immunization Officer Dr. Santosh Shukla informed that the Dry Run will take place at Gandhi Nagar health centre, L.N. Medical College, Kolar and Govindpura health centre from 9 am to 11 am. As many as 25 health workers each will arrive for the vaccination at all the three centres and all the preparations for vaccination such as transporting the vaccine from the vaccine carrier to the vaccination center, following all protocols of Covid-19 vaccination will be included.
Dr. Shukla informed that there will be a team of 5 vaccine officers each will be available at the three centres. Along with this, external monitors along with supervisors and internal monitors will also monitor the proceedings. The internal monitor will comprise Engineer Shri Vipin Srivastava in Gandhi Nagar, Dr. Saurabh Purohit, Deputy Director Vaccination at L.N. Medical College and Dr. Padmakar Tripathi, Deputy Director Vaccination at Govindpura Health centre.
Members of the external monitoring team will include representatives from WHO, UNICEF and CHAI. Representatives of UNDP will support Supervision as technical assistants. State Immunization Officer Dr. Shukla said that for the first time in the world, a program of vaccination is going to be conducted as a campaign for older people. Dry Run (Rehearsal) is being conducted to ensure 100 percent adherence of the prescribed protocol to ensure all proper arrangements of vaccination.
